The Useless Granddaughter

 Once there lived a girl named Sinya who loved Science. Her happiness knew no bounds when her teacher announced a Science Competition. Her teacher told the class that all students need to make a model which is fueled by natural energy.

Despite her excitement, Sinya was not able to decide what would she make. Her head was bubbling with ideas but which energy should she try to base her model on was the big dilemma.

Finally, Sinya decided that she will make a solar vehicle. She started working on it but it was not turning up as she expected. After two days of working on it, heat of the Sun became unbearable for her and she dropped the idea.

The submission for the competition was just ten days away and she still had no idea. Sinya thought that she will go for  swimming to relax herself. While she was in the pool, an idea struck her. She will make a costume to take the divers deep in the Sea and would try to harness the energy from water but her parents thought that it is a dangerous idea to test and she should think of something else.

Sinya was at the starting point once again with no idea to work upon. She started crying. Her grandmother came to her and asked lovingly, "What happened, Darling?"

Sinya said, "I have no idea for Science Competition, I am useless."

Granma Smiled and said, "One thing that is useless for one person, can be very useful for someone else."

And thats how Sinya got her wonderful idea. She would make wings with all the discarded things. She now knew what is she going to do and How!

For next six days, Sinya worked on her science model without taking a break. When she showed her creation to her parents and grandmother,  they could not believe their eyes.

Finally the day of the competition arrived, Sinya was very nervous and excited.

When her name was called, she confidentally came ahead and started addressing the room full of Science lovers. 

"Respected scientists, teachers and dear friends! I present to you my invention 'House with Wings' which is fueled by wind energy. We may fly with the help of these wings to cover short distances. It even has a tiny house that can be used for camping.

Then she demonstrated her invention. Everyone was in awe, judges were clapping and her friends were cheering for her.

When the result came, Sinya had won the competition  and everyone's heart. She was given a high speed computer as first prize.

Sinya's teachers patted her back while she hugged her parents. Her grandmother too hugged her and said, "I am very proud of my useless grand-daughter."

Everyone started laughing and went home happily.
